http://www.thewinnerguide.com/lower-back-pain/ — Causes Of Lower Back Pain
As we get older, our bodies tend to lose their muscle elasticity and tone, as well as bone strength. The discs in our spine lose fluid and flexibility, and they cant cushion the vertebrae as well anymore.
Aging is one reason we get lower back pain.
If the muscles or ligaments in the back have a spasm, sprain or strain, the discs in the spine can rupture or bulge. That puts a lot of pressure on the nerves that are based in the spinal cord. When there is compression or irritation in those nerve roots, the back complains by giving us pain. What causes the back spasm, sprain or strain? Usually some form of trauma or injury, for example attempting to lift something too heavy, or overstretching.
Degenerative diseases like arthritis or osteoporosis can also cause lower back pain. Other potential factors are congenital abnormalities in the spine, viral infections and irritation to the joints and discs.
Some life conditions can also contribute to lower back pain. These include smoking, obesity, pregnancy weight gain, poor physical condition, stress, poor posture and poor sleeping position. Oftentimes, lower back and hip pain go hand in hand.
Avoiding Lower Back Pain
If you take proper care of your back in your day-to-day life, you can avoid lower back pain. Be sure to have correct posture and to lift with your legs (instead of using your back), as well as strengthening your back with exercises. Be sure that your workplace follows healthy ergonomics, planning ahead by having furniture and tools and such to avoid injury, as this can protect the body from lower back pain.

Cutting Edge Chiropractic Treatment Techniques Provided by Dr. Melvin Kanan:
(1) MANUAL SPINAL ADJUSTMENT
Chiropractic is a branch of the HEALING ARTS that utilizes the body’s own powers of natural healing energy. Chiropractic focuses on disorders of the spine musculoskeletal, nervous systems and the effects of these disorders on general health.
CHIROPRACTIC comes from the Greek word CHIROPRAKTIKOS, meaning “Effective Treatment by Hand”.
Using the correction and adjustment of the spinal bones (vertebra) the Chiropractor is able to release the nerve pressure on the pinched nerves. Releasing of this nerve pressure lets the normal nerve energy travel from the brain down the spinal cord and exit the spine through the spinal nerves, causing the brain to be able to communicate with the muscle tissues, organs and all other body parts for a healthy, well functioning body without pain.
(2) ARTHRO-STIM SPINAL ADJUSTMENT
This device is more user specific as it can be adjusted to deliver from a few ounces up to 40 pounds of force. The force is adjusted depending on the initial pressure placed upon the patient’s body by the Chiropractor.
Arthro-Stim is an FDA approved instrument. It has been continuously refined and perfected over its 22-year history.
The Arthro-Stim gives patients a specific spinal vertebral adjustment, meaning that only the segment that is out of position is adjusted; there is no twisting, turning or “cracking” of joints. This technique permits adjusting in different postures.
Most people report a feeling of ease, relaxation and well-being as their structural nerve stress (subluxations) releases/diminishes.
(3) ELECTRO THERAPEUTIC POINT STIMULATION (ETPS)
Chiropractic is a branch of the HEALING ARTS that utilizes the body’s own powers of natural healing energy. Chiropractic focuses on disorders of the spine musculoskeletal, nervous systems and the effects of these disorders on general health.
CHIROPRACTIC comes from the Greek word CHIROPRAKTIKOS, meaning “Effective Treatment by Hand”.
ETPS is a powerful healing technique that eliminates pain very fast. It is NOT painful and causes increased blood supply, muscle relaxation, nerve stimulation to treated areas. And it is known to create an endorphin effect. It works very well with Chiropractic adjustments to give you a pain-free healthy body. The theoretical underpinnings of ETPS therapy are based on sound medicine, firmly grounded in the concept of acupuncture, modern neurology, microcurrent stimulation and myofascial release (muscular relaxation) techniques. ETPS is a unique and very powerful HEALING instrument.
Contribution to pain relief comes from the synthesis of these different approaches. Combining the therapeutic techniques of these different therapies leads to a more HARMONIOUS body and mind.
By following the recommended protocols, Chiropractors are able to identify anatomical areas (vertical subluxation) most responsible for contributing to patients’ painful conditions.
Using this approach, ETPS can produce superior results over traditional pain therapy techniques in a fraction of the time. All without drugs, side effects, pads or gels.
